Who We Are
Our communities depend on businesses that provide jobs, serve local families, and give people reasons to invest here. The Modoc Economic Development Commission (MEDC) helps those businesses start, stay, and grow.
MEDC is a place to turn when you have a business idea, face a challenge, or see an opportunity for a building or property. We help you understand your options and connect with business advisors, lenders, workforce programs, public agencies, and other qualified resources. With your permission, we make introductions and follow up to see whether you received the help you needed.
We also bring local and regional partners together to strengthen downtown Alturas and explore opportunities for vacant or underused buildings. By connecting business assistance with community projects, we help local ideas take shape.
MEDC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving all of Modoc County.
